A concept in the making ft. Yael Attia & Romm Lewkowicz

→ Discourse at HAU

During this talk we will describe the frame of the whole project, and elaborate on the background of the “The Omer Count”: the tradition of counting the days between Passover, the Israelites’ exodus from slavery in Egypt, and Shavuot, the receiving of the ten commandments. The 49 days in between hold the question of what it means to be a community and what we need to become a society. These and more questions are discussed by anthropologist Romm Lewkowicz and Jewish studies scholar Yael Attia.
